THE COFFEEHOUSE
The Veterans Coffeehouse of Wallingford was started by Mark Halliday of Southington, CT in 2017. Tired of hearing the repetitive saying of "thank you for your service," he set out to do something more meaningful to support his fellow veterans. Through guest speakers, discussions, and a little help from coffee and breakfast donated by local businesses, veterans of Wallingford and neighboring towns have found a way to connect with new people and educate others on the realities of war and what its truly like coming home after active service.

WOW Radio ct
We had the pleasure of being interviewed on WOW Radio CT at our very own, Toyota of Wallingford. Our veterans, Bill and Jerry, along with our Bev Churchill, talked to Brian Smith and Pam Landry about the coffeehouse, how it brings together all parts of the surrounding community, and fosters a safe, social space for veterans and their families.
Bev also goes into depth about her job in finding military speakers and shines a light on the reality of the world that the Vietnam veterans came back to when the war was over. Bill and Jerry share their experiences as drafted and enlisted servicemen, how it impacted their lives, and the positive effects that the coffeehouse has had in their current years.
